Welded Mesh Panels - Product Profile

Updated: Apr 2, 2020

Welded Mesh Panels have a wide variety of uses and applications in both industry and home use. From partitions and guards to enclosures and storage Welded Mesh panels can provide an easy to use, cost-effective, sturdy and straightforward solution with an industrial aesthetic.

As the Welded Mesh Panels are primarily heavier wire gauges such as 3mm and 4mm, they provide an excellent solution for storage and security. The majority of our standard panels are available in wire diameters ranging from 12swg (2.5mm), 10swg (3mm), 8swg (4mm) to 6swg (4.7mm). The standard opening sizes vary from 1”, to 2”, 3” and 4". In some cases, other wire thicknesses or square sizes are available or can be manufactured specifically for an order, so if a job requires something unique or bespoke get in touch. 12 Gauge equates to a 2.5mm Diameter wire and is the thinnest wire available on standard manufactured panels, 10 gauge is a 3.0mm Diameter wire and is the most common thickness. 8 gauge equates to a 4.0mm Diameter wire, and the last of the standard thicknesses is a 6 gauge, which equates to a 4.7mm Diameter wire. 6 gauge and is the heaviest wire standard panels come in. The wire diameter often dictates the availability, stock levels, and sheet sizes of different meshes, for example, the 1”x1” is only available as heavy as 8swg in standard panels.

At Mesh Supplies & Fabrications Ltd. we keep a variety of panels in Mild Steel, Galvanised and Stainless Steel mesh sheets in stock. Mild Steel panels are best suited for fabrication work, jobs where galvanising will be done afterwards, and indoor use. The Galvanised panels are the same mesh as the Mild Steel but coated in a layer of galvanising that provides an extra level of protection against rust, water, and corrosion. Stainless Steel delivers an even more durable material, along with the associated benefits of Stainless versus Galvanised (such as being non-magnetic). This makes it ideal for filters and uses with intricate machinery. Stainless Steel also lasts much longer underwater. Welded Mesh Panels suit a wide range of purposes and can be used in everything from display to storage and security. As it is manufactured into panels, each mesh is sturdy enough to support some significant weight. The 2”x2”x10swg (3mm) mesh, which is our most popular mesh panel, is often used for dog cages, mesh supports in vehicle bodies, and infill panels for warehouse storage racks. The 3”x1/2” mesh is often used for security or machine guards as the narrow opening prevents anyone putting their hand through the mesh. For more information on which meshes will be suitable for your needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us directly.

A key benefit of coming to Mesh Supplies is our ability to cut most mesh to specific sizes, cutting the required sections from larger sheets means we can provide a range of custom-sized panels, which makes our products extremely cost-effective, as well as ready for their intended purpose upon delivery. Ordering Welded Mesh Panels at Mesh Supplies & Fabrications is simple; all you need is the desired wire thickness, opening size and panel size. We can then match our stock to the requirements, or have a custom panel cut or manufactured.
