Expanded Metal

Expanded metal is an extremely versatile product, allowing for a range of uses. The mesh is made from a single piece of metal and due to the processes used the sheet of metal actually gains strength once expanded, making a stronger end product. The metal is manipulated by stretching or slitting the sheet to create the holes, rather than punching them out (as is the case with perforated sheets), this provides clear benefits in regards to cost, as well as strength and efficiency of the product.

Additionally expanded metal is ideal for security and storage purposes, the Securilath mesh, prevents access, and can provide a strong partition between spaces. Other advantages of expanded metal include a high capacity to conduct electricity, there are no breaks or welds in the mesh to halt or alter the electric flow, the mesh (when coated) is

also able to withhold  extreme conditions such as industrial acid works, as well being underwater.

Due to the many advantages gained through expanding metal as well as the efficiency of the price, the uses of the mesh are applicable to almost any field and can simplify most tasks considerably. For more information on the various types of expanded metal and their availability,  please refer to out product catalogue, available for download on the 'Products' page.
